Why am I barking with a lisp?

I love food. Or anything resembling food. Or in fact anything that I can put in my mouth and treat as food.

I know all my paw-pals relate to this.

You put food on the floor, I will find it. And eat it.

Here’s what happened today.

We had a big storm, complete with thunder and lightning. My ma brought me inside because it scares the dog-dang poo outta me her. Ummmm, ok, me.

So, I’m sniffin’ around, and it wasn’t long before I came across the glorious scent of FOOD.

A big glob of roasted peanut butter, to be precise. On the floor.

Well, not exactly.

Wrapped in thin stuff and stuck into a piece of wood on the floor.

A piece of wood with a glob of mouth-watering peanut butter. I don't need no invitation, I'm dining.

Smelt good to me, didn’t it?

So I went to lick it.

And the thing snapped.

Big fat hOWl time.

Here’s surprised (and still slobbering) li’l ole me. Minus the peanut butter, sadly.

It's a rat-trap....and you've been caught. Yeah the Boomtown Rats had already written about my experience.

And that's why I'm barking with a lisp.

PS No wonder the mice around here are bleedin’ huge, gettin’ fed that yummy stuff.

Oh! Owie, owie, owie!!!
Are you ok? Why can't those meeses keep their food in a dish like the rest of us? You don't think they did that to you on purpose, do you? Like some sick kinda mousie joke? Little rodents! (No offense to Fu Fu here -- he's an honorary dog, anyway.)
Hope you're OK, Tin Tin. Your mom should give you ice cream to help you feel better.

Wait a sec. Didn't you used to have more spots? That must have been really suprising.

Oh poor Tin-Tin :-( Hope you are feeling better soon buddy - do you need me to come down and kiss it all better ? Make sure you really play it up so your mum will feel really guilty and give you lots of treats :-)

Love
Opy

OUCH! poor tin tin. i hear a big smear of pb on your tongue will help the pain. but not pb smeared on a trap!

i once got caught in a glue trap. it was less painful but terribly terribly embarassing.

wally.

Yikes! Poor Tin Tin! Did your tongue get caught in the trap? I didn't know mice put yummy stuff on traps and try to catch dogs. What do you think they do with the dogs they catch? I'm sure glad they didn't catch you.

Ouch! Sounds like something I would do. I have the ability of putting my head on the counter without jumping up so I can get into all sorts of yummies! I hope you have healed and I have added you to my blogroll!

too funny. Maggot and you would have a tough time sniffing out pb in MTs, though I doubt a little pain would prevent Mags from eating every single trap...pb, trap and mouse in one swift gulp. Yummy!

OUCHHHHHHH!!! I hope it no longer hurts. Be careful next time!

Hellloooo doooogs, thanks for droppin’ by. I’m now lispless, I’m happy to bark.

Hey Ao4, yep, ice cream sounds like a great idea. I’m going to work on that one.

Yeah Pappy, I think I dropped a few spots all right. In fact, they ended up on the kitchen floor. (Then I ate ‘em).

Oh Opy, you don’t have to ask twice. Come on down. And yep, I played it up big time.

Wally, I’m likin’ the sound of a peanut-butter-smeared tongue. (Can you buy them?). And I want to hear your glue story sometime.

Izzy, no my tongue didn’t get caught. To be honest, it just gave me a fright. But I have to make the ma think I got hurt. And I do believe in the mice conspiracy theory. Certainly the ones in this house anyway.

Beaglieboys, thanks for making me feel normal. Bees! Wow, now I wouldn’t take them on.

Ranger, yeah, I thought of you as soon as I had got over the fright. Mice. Peppers. What next.

Charlie, don’t mention that four-letter word around here, pleeeeeeeeease.

Bussie. Yep. Everything is edible, even when it isn’t. Another of my philisophadog, ummmm, philosophies.

Flosster, thanks cutie yourself!

Poenystormrider, now there’s an excellent lesson to learn. Might apply it myself, actually!

Boo, yeah, the ma made a fuss o’ me after that. Didn’t give me the peanut butter though, so I didn’t quite get an A+ for that performance.

Fu Fu, to be honest, sounds worse than it was. Gave me a fright, but I got over it. Lisp is gone!

Finnegan, thanks for droppin’ by, big guy. I envy you your, ummmm, bigness.

3dogcache, hee hee hee, a doog after my own heart (or stomach).

Jay, thanks, yep I’ve learned a mousetrap lesson.

Sunshade, those mousies will be laughin’ the other side of their whiskers if I so much as see one of ‘em…

Flosster (again), knew there was milk for pups, but not big dogs!

Oh Fei & E, you’d never be kicked out of this home. This home is the hugs and kisses and cuddles capital, I’m tellin’ ya!

Ender, good plan. I will act on it.

Flosster (again again!), glad to hear you have ‘em well trained.

Chow for now, doogs, love ya all.

You poor thing! I think you deserve a huge jar of peanut butter, mousetrap free, to make up for it.

Hey there doogs,

Floss, hee hee hee, hello again!

Ivy, oh you bet I got mileage. A dog's gotta work it, ya know.

Oh, poor Tin Tin! We bet that really hurt big time. Hope you are better now pal. Those stupid mice. We've only ever had 2 mice in our basement and Papa caught them with the ol peanut butter trick too. Mama made him put the traps up high so we couldn't get into them. ( she was smart) We hope your Mama gave you some good peanut butter to make up for your ouwie!!!
